Glen Cove Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Receives Prestigious National Award

Optima Award Recognizes Excellence in Long-Term Care and Assisted Living In Glen Cove

The Glen Cove Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, was the proud recipient of the coveted Nationally Recognized OPTIMA AWARD presented by Nursing Homes Magazine. The Optima Award was created to give national recognition to innovative, outcome-oriented teamwork in long-term facilities that contributes to the optimum function and well-being of residents. The Glen Cove Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation received the award for their winning entry, written by Administrator Jill Smoller, which described how she, together with the entire staff, successfully implemented a program to overhaul the food service division.


In recognition of the fact that the Glen Cove Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is an award winning long-term care facility in a league of its own, representatives from the offices of Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp of Glen Cove, Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi and the NY Department of Senior Affairs, presented citations at the Awards Ceremony. Assembly David Sidikman of District 13 was on hand to warmly congratulate the Glen Cove Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation upon their winning of the prestigious Optima Award.

One of the perks of the job, according to Nursing Homes/Long Term Care Management Editor-in-Chief Richard L. Peck, is being able to attend the annual OPTIMA Award Presentation ceremonies conducted by the winning facilities.
